Tournament Rules

®       Double Elimination Format

®       Seeds 1-4 get 1^st round bye

®       1^st Round Game opponents determined by seedings, 5 vs. 12, 6 vs. 11, 7 vs. 10, 8 vs. 9.

®       Subsequent rounds, teams will be determined by the Tournament Bracket

®       Date, Times and Fields noted on Tournament Bracket

®       Dates, times and fields are subject to change due to weather and/or availability

®       Team seedings based on regular season combined standings as determined by overall winning percentage

®       Winning percentage formula as per OTHG Rules

®       Tie breakers as per OTHG Rules (1st – Head-to-head record, 2nd – Divisional record)

 

Final Records and Seedings

 

®       Home team will be determined by team seedings for every game during the entire Tournament including the finals

®       All games will have a winner/loser – no ties

®       Time Limit Rule (no new inning after 1:20) in effect for every game for Rounds 1-3, no exceptions

®       Beginning in Round 4, all games will be played to completion (Time Limit Rule suspended).

®       The OTHG Board has the right to reestablish the Time Limit Rule.  This will be based solely on unique situations that may arise and not specifically anticipated (ex. scheduling conflicts due to cancellations).

®       If the Time Limit Rule is in effect the following will be followed in a tied game situation:

®       If tied after the 1:20 time limit, game is continued as if in an extra inning situation no matter what inning the game is at when the time limit is reached.  (This is not a sudden death situation, home team always gets to bat)

®       If the umpire determines the winning team is intentionally stalling, they may extend the time limit (within reason)

®       Run Rule is in effect for all games

®       Games that are postponed for any reason that hasn’t reached official game length shall be rescheduled and replayed in their entirety.

®       No protests will be entertained, umpire’s on field decision will be final.
