Be ready for the unexpected with OTHG Softball...

OVER THE HILL GANG FUNDRAISER

“Team-Up for Ty”: The Over the Hill Gang softball league is holding its annual fundraiser on Friday, July 31st, 7:00 PM at Allen Park in Farmingdale. Please help us support 10-year-old Ty Patrick Flood, a young boy suffering from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a progressive and debilitating muscular disease. Ty and his family face many financial challenges and the OTHG is looking for community support to ease their burden. Join us for raffles, free refreshments, live music and softball. It is a fantastic way to spend a summer evening in your community and to raise money for a fantastic cause. For more info please go to: www.othgny.com/charities.

9:40pm - Bar-Boy versus McCourt & Trudden - 60ft field

Who were those guys? Another solid performance from McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home, who continue to improve with their 5th win of the season. A 26-8 M&T win over the impressive Bar Boy added to another of the best softball nights in several years. Once again “Big” Al Lobardi was outstanding with a solid pitching performance against a solid hitting Bar Boy team. After crushing a tremendous 3 run home run over the center field fence, Al was called out for stepping out of the batter’s box……..really, are we kidding?? Love the men in blue. However, M & T pounded hit after hit, inning after inning……key clutch hits by Mike Anzalone, Brian Murphy, Rob Keener, Mark Milanta, Rick Bugeia, “skinny “ Bob Concessi, Brian Murphy and Matt Sclafani. Solid defense by M & T included a key double play initiated by Al Lobardi, 2nd base performance by Bob Concessi, and an amazing performance in the outfield with key catches by Gary Raifert, Anthony Blassi and Mike Colecchia along with the steady left field glove of Mike Anzalone. Jim Hose was on fire with 4 key, solid hits helping to cement the victory. Bob “steady” Dunn was again solid at third base. Late night wives support was greatly appreciated. Thank you Jackie Hose and Jane Concessi.
