Farmingdale’s Over the Hill Gang softball league recently held its annual awards ceremony. The highlight of the evening was our OTHG Hall of Fame Induction for Bruce Kubart. For more than 27 years Bruce set the table as the lead off hitter for Wolfies, Granny O'Sheas and Paradox Cafe. His speed led the way on the base paths while his passion as a board member helped play a pivotal role in the growth and success of the OTHG. Town of Oyster Bay Councilman Tony Macagnone presented Bruce with a proclamation from Supervisor John Venditto. Long time friend and teammate Carl Willeman accepted on his behalf as Bruce was away for the evening. The whole league wishes Bruce the best in his retirement.
In
addition, Autocraft’s
Manager Dennis Oehl accepted the Reilly Cup for winning the league’s postseason
tournament. Trophies were also awarded to league champions
Singletons
and LaCorte Family Auto. The Over the Hill Gang begins its 39th season
on April 11 at Allen Park.
