Whoops, maybe NOT Rounding Third...

Happy Birthday!

Friday was a big night for unofficial league score keeper Bill Grieshaber. Bill celebrated his 82 birthday down at the park watching his son play for Singleton’s and doing his part to help the OTHG. Happy Birthday Bill and best wishes for many more.

9:40pm - Moby versus Paradox - 60ft field

Paradox was carrying a 3 game winning streak and looking to break .500 as they met up with Moby this past Friday.  The Black Shirts came ready to hit and Jack Kisilinsky (4 hits/3 RBIs) started Paradox off with a 2 run single in the second.  Throughout the game the offense chugged with another 4 hit/3 run effort by Wally Seyfert. This fed the top of the order as John Compitello (4/5, 2 runs), Steve Finelli (4/4, 4 runs) and Mitch Maghakian (3/3, 3 runs) added to scoring.  Both Lenny Balestrieri and Vinny Vega added home runs as Paradox went on to win 23-5 and go over .500 for the first time this season.

9:40pm - Lockie & Nowachek versus Changing Times - 90ft field

Changing Times Pub got back to their winning ways this week against Lockie & Nowachek Family Chiropractors. It was a 9:40 start, so grab some coffee and let's go. L&N came out of the gate in the top of the first scoring 6 runs. They plated another run in the 3rd but that's when the caffeine took hold and CT came alive. CT scored seven runs starting with back to back homers: a 2 run blast by Chris Leelum (5-6) 1HR, followed by a solo homer by Mike Corda. But L&N responded, scoring another 6 runs in the 4th. CT knew they were in trouble and dug deep knowing L&N wouldn't give up. CT answered back with 4 runs in the 5th and 6 more runs in the 6th. That was enough to hold off L&N and grab the victory 21-14. Great hitting by Steve Mahoney (3-4), 4 RBIs and Joe Stephan (3-5), 3 RBIs. But the game ball goes to Dave Thorburn who went (6-6) with 2 homers and 6 RBI. Another solid team effort took CT above the .500 mark.
