The OTHG schedule was partially rained out on Friday, July 29th. We were able to play the 7:00pm games but heavy rain began around 8pm and ended up canceling the rest of the evening.
Depending on the amount of league rainouts for the year, these games will be rescheduled for the end of August. Managers will be notified at a later date with updated scheduling info.
Zwanger Pesiri Radiology (ZP) beat Moby Drugs 6-1 in a rain-shortened game. Once again defense was key for ZP. John DeFalco made a fantastic scoop at 1st base to end a double play and he topped that with a really nice, run saving stop at 3rd. Middle infielders John Hernandez and Rich D’Amico also turned a pair of DP’s, while pitcher Brian Tinney slowed numerous shots zipping past him. In the outfield, Bino Reverberi nailed another runner as players continue to unsuccessfully test his laser arm. With Tinney holding a first place team to only one run, ZP scored just enough to win. The biggest hit came off the powerful bat of Marc Fischer in the 7th inning. After 3rd base coach Joe Trainer pointed to the outfield and told him to hit a homer, he did just that. Fischer blasted a rocket over the left field tee-ball fence on the 60-foot field. The win lifts ZP’s record to 6-5.
