REAAAAAACHing for that one... |
McCourt and Trudden Funeral home beat Moby Drugs 16-15 on a windy, freezing cold April night. There were plenty of hitting stars for M&T but none bigger than rookie Ben D'Amprisi, the OTHG Player of the Week. Ben's go-ahead 2-run homer in the top of the 9th won the game, but the blast was bittersweet. Ben ruptured his achilles heel on the swing and will miss the remainder of the season. M&T and the entire league wish him a speedy recovery.

Early on, M&T set out to make some noise against Moby, the reigning champs. M&T jumped out to a quick 2-1 lead after the 1st inning, carrying a 5-3 lead trough 5 innings, M&T came out swinging in the 6th, putting together a total team rally of 8 runs, then another 1 in the 7th, for a 14-3 lead heading into the bottom of the 7th, that's when team Moby started to put their game together by plating 3 runs in the bottom of their half of the 7th, trailing 14-6 heading into the top of the 8th. Holding M&T scoreless in the top of the 8th, Moby erupted for 9 runs in the bottom of the 8th for a 15-14 lead. In the top of the 9th, M&T' still had some fight left, Steve Kolodny lead off with a walk and Big Ben D'Ampris came up and hit a 2 run line drive home run over the right center field wall, bouncing off the top of the fence, giving M&T the lead and eventually a 16-15 win.

with injuries. Pitcher Pete Cestare kept Paradox at bay. L&N jumped

game when Paradox started to close in. James Doyle was 3 for 4 with
4 RBI and made several great plays in the outfield.
