Make up on Thursday, Aug 29th
[you submit it, we'll print it]
The OTHG
schedule was postponed due to poor weather on Friday, June 14th. Depending
on the amount of league rainouts for the year, these games will be rescheduled
in August. Managers will be notified at a later date with updated scheduling
info.
Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology beat Bar-Boy 11-9 on the 60 foot field. ZP scored 6 runs in the first inning to take the lead for good. Jerry Mazza, John Hernandez, Marc Fischer, Russ Graham, Bino Reverberi, Steve Lenci and Tommy Dittmeier all strung together hits. For the game, Fischer had 3 hits. Mazza, Hernandez, and Dittmeier had 2 each. In the field, 3rd baseman Sean O’Flynn and 2nd baseman Rich D’Amico handled everything hit their way to support winning pitcher Brian Tinney.
Moby Drugs and Lockie and Nowachek Family Chiropractors ended the Over the Hill Gang regular season with a fantastic game! Moby took a quick 4-0 lead, but L&N answered and each team had the lead throughout the game. L&N took a 16-10 lead into the last inning when Moby struck back for 6 runs to tie the game 16-16. L&N had the top of their order in the bottom of the 9th but their first two batters lined out.
With two outs,
Mike Quigley hit a single. Rich Apollo followed with a double putting
runners on 2nd and 3rd. Moby then intentionally walked Butch Flecker
to load the bases. Next up was Tim Jones, L&N's player/manager, who
ran the count to 3-2. Jones then lined a single to center to win the
game! In addition to Jones' heroics, L&N got a home run from Tommy Joseph.
Quigley also went the distance for the win after limited pitching appearances
during the season.
