The Over the Hill Gang softball League would like to thank the Farmingdale Community for its overwhelming support at its 2013 fundraiser. This year the recipient of the charity event was a young Farmingdale resident named EllieAnna. She is a precious two year old battling a rare liver disease. Ellie has already undergone several surgeries including a liver transplant at the age of seven months. Ellie's Mom is a Farmingdale native and her Dad is a United States Marine. Sadly, their insurance does not cover much of EllieAnna's medical needs. It's been a difficult time for this young family. The OTHG is pleased to report over $14,000 was raised to help her family with the many expenses associated with her illness.
The night would not have been possible without an army of volunteers and dozens of local businesses who donated their products and services. The OTHG is proud to be part of such a caring and generous community. Special thanks to County Legislators Michael Venditto and Joe Belisi , T.O.B Council members Tony Macagnone, Jim Altadonn and Michele Johnson for attending our event. The continuous support of John Venditto and the Town of Oyster Bay is greatly appreciated and thank you for the use of the "Show Mobile" for the event.
The
league would also like to extend our thanks to the staff at Allen
Park, the American Legion #449 Color Guard, Cara Minichiello
(National Anthem Singer), the South Farmingdale Fire Department and
Jonny Ray for his wonderful live music.
