Barco Construction fell from the undefeated ranks losing a tough one to Singletons 20-15. Things started out real well for Barco as they jumped out to a 10–1 lead after three but the Singleton bats came to life with 10 in the 4th to take a one run lead. From there on in it was a back and forth battle but the turning point, which went against Barco, was an outstanding grab in the 7th on Dave Ringer’s bases-loaded 2 out drive. The game was tied at that point and after Singletons scored 5 in the bottom half the game was called due to the 1:20 time restraint. The Barco bats still stayed hot with Dave Ringer, Gary Jambor and Jim Weilmann getting 3 hits to lead the way. Terry McPartland had 2 hits & 2 RBIs including a clutch 2 out double late in the game. Bill White and Dave Saur each had 3 RBIs on 2 hits with Dave’s coming on a triple while Russ Graham had 2 hits and 2 RBIs.
Moby Drugs remains the hottest team in the league, beating Zwanger Pesiri 19-1 Friday night. Once again it was a combination of tough defense and relentless hitting that sparked the team. Moby banged out 26 hits including triples from Vinny Misuraca and Tom Zarek.
Autocraft manufactured a win over O'Shea's by the score of 19-10 last week, made from a depleted roster due to absenteeism and injury. Special recognition must go to Mike Mormino (wrenched back), Bob Huebner (bum knee), and rookie Mike Feretti (fractured finger), all of whom could easily have sat home to recover. Pleas from manager Denny "Ace" Oehl won the day and they all contributed to the win. Mike Feretti hit a home run when the game was still close to seal the win. Denny Oehl pitched one of his best on the mound. Joe Lutz, "Ace", Mike Mormino, Aldo Balducci, and Brian Landy kept O'Sheas busy with timely hitting.
