Double bubble is the best...

Jerry is thinking about where to go with it...

Hit the brakes!

Go ahead, hit it to me, I dare you...

7:00pm - Bar-Boy versus Lockie & Nowachek - 60ft field

It was a difficult day for the right side of the infield for Lockie & Nowachek Family Chiropractors in their loss to Bar-Boy. On a beautiful warm evening, the sun was blinding to the infielders. And with the addition of Bar-Boy's many left-handed hitters it was not going to be an easy night. Every hit to the right side was lost in the sun immediately after it left the bat and Bar-Boy took every advantage en route to a 25-15 win.

There were a few bright spots in the L&N offense. Damon Pishva was three for four with 3 singles and three runs scored. The big hit was Tom DeSantis' triple to left field that gave L&N a little life. L&N proceeded to bat around in the 6th inning, but it wasn't enough against Bar Boy's insurmountable lead.

8:20pm - Barco Construction versus Moby Drugs - 60ft field

Barco’s up and down season continued, but fortunately for them this was an up week as they defeated Moby Drugs 16-14. The game started well for Barco Construction as they scored three in the 1st on RBI hits by Russ Graham, Dave Ringer and Dennis Ryan but Moby bounced back with two in the 2nd. Barco added three in the 3rd on Russ Graham's long fence clearing HR, another three in the 4th on Rick Pedone’s 2 RBI hit and Mike Angarita’s sac fly. Each time Moby responded with 3 runs the same inning. Barco put together another 3 run rally in the 5th on RBI hits from Dave Ringer, Kevin Moloney and Dennis Ryan but this time Moby answered with 4 in their half to tie the score at 12. Moby took their only lead with a run in the 6th but Barco put together the winning rally in the 7th, which turned out to be the last inning, again on RBI hits from Dave Ringer (2), Kevin Moloney and Dennis Ryan. Both Dave Ringer and Dennis Ryan had a perfect 4-4 night with Dave having 4 RBIs and Dennis 3. Russ Graham also drove in four. The team welcomed back Terry McPartland this week, who had been out injured since the 1st game, much to his doctor and wife Val’s dismay. The team would like to offer their condolences to Tina (Bob) Diamond on the passing of her father and to Bill White on the death of his brother-in-law. Also a fast and complete recovery to Sara Cook (Gary Jambor’s daughter) on her recent surgery.

9:40pm - Singletons versus Autocraft - 60ft field

Things couldn't have looked much bleaker than they did for Autocraft once they were down 20-4 after three innings against the powerful Singletons team. Then all of a sudden in the 4th came the biggest comeback in recent Autocraft history when they scored 17 runs to go ahead 21-20. Two innings later the game ended because of the time limit with a score of 23-23 when Autocraft couldn't get a runner in from third with two outs. That fourth inning rally was a true team effort with every batter in the lineup contributing. So many players got hits with two outs to keep the incredible rally going. Aldo Balducci, Brian Landy, Joe Lutz, Mike Mormino, Chris Piccininni, Don Simone, and Tommy Vanasco all had big nights. Cudos must go to Mike Ferretti who held Singletons down in the late innings on the mound so his team could recover.

9:40pm - LaCorte Family Auto versus Paradox Café - 90ft field

Paradox Cafe has been playing through the Dog Days of Summer and its only June... They were looking to snap a four game losing streak that had gone on much too long. Their opponent, LaCorte Family Auto, began the game in the 1st inning scoring 1 run when they could have had more with a bases loaded start. Paradox bounced back with 2 runs in the first as Bob Thompson singled in a run and Bob Kirk hit a sacrifice fly. Slowly but surely Paradox added 6 more runs over the next 3 innings. Walter Hasemann and Al Celeste had RBI singles and the SAC fly attack of Lyle Nigro, Mitch Maghakian and Bob T added 4 more runs. LaCorte looked to sneak back into the game in the 4th inning with 3 more runs and closed the gap to 8-5. Lenny Balestrieri helped extend the lead with a two run triple to left and Don Carlin finished it off with an RBI to help Paradox back into the win column with an 11-6 victory over LaCorte.
