Waiting for the right pitch to knock out...

Kicking up some dust is part of the game...

7:00pm - Paradox Cafe versus Zwanger Pesiri - 60ft field

It was a perfect night for Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology. ZP won on a walk off hit by John DeFalco and did so with team leader Tom "T" Ball in the dugout. The entire team was thrilled to have T-Ball back and it showed. ZP entered the 9th inning down a run, but consecutive singles by John Hernandez, Marc Fischer, Rich D’Amico and DeFalco gave ZP a 13-12 win over Paradox Café. Fisher and DeFalco led the offense with four hits each. D’Amico returned from the DL with three hits. Bino Reverberi and Hernandez also had three hits. Karl Dessel and Ira Berger rounded out the hit parade with two hits apiece.

The defense, behind winning pitcher Brian Tinney, was solid. Dessel chased down flies in left and right fields, including a very tough slicing drive late in the game with runners on base. Ira Berger made an equally impressive putout behind the plate to save a run while Pete Mendelson was solid at 2nd. It was also great to see Joe Trainer at the game. Joe and T-Ball would make a great team as co-managers.

7:00pm - Autocraft versus Lockie & Nowachek - 90ft field

Everything seemed to go right for Autocraft in beating Lockie and Nowachek Family Chiropractors 25-6. The team hit the ball through the middle, between the outfielders and sometimes over them on the big field. The entire lineup added to the hit parade, lead by Don Simone with his first (of more to come) homer deep to left center. Tommy Vanasco went deep as did Brian Landy. Benny Macchia, Joe"Mr. Steady" Lutz, Aldo Balducci, Denny "Ace" Oehl, and rookies Chris Piccinnini and Tom Fesolowich had multiple hit games to keep the rallies going. Mike Ferretti pitched his second straight win with near perfection.

9:40pm - Barco versus Singletons - 90ft field

Barco Construction broke out of their season long funk with a much needed victory over a strong Singleton’s squad 23-12. Singletons jumped out to a 3 run lead in the 1st but Barco exploded for 12 runs in the 2nd with Bob Bergsten’s grand slam setting the stage for the inning. Also driving in runs for Barco in the inning were Dave Saur & Rick Pedone with two each, along with Steve Jacobson and Mike Angarita. Singletons added four more runs to make it 13-7 but Barco bounced back with four of their own on Gary Jambor’s two RBIs and Dave Ringer and Steve Jacobson RBI hits. Singleton’s got within 5 with a 4 run 5th before Barco provided some breathing room with a seven run 7th which turned out to be the last inning due to time restraints. Rick Pedone had another two RBI single in the inning which gave him five on the night. Also contributing with RBI hits were Steve Jacobson, Dave Saur, Dave Ringer and Bob Bergsten, who also drove in five for the game .
