8:20pm - Zwanger Pesiri versus Autocraft - 60ft field

Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology pounded 30 hits and 27 runs to earn its 2nd straight win. Pitcher Brian Tinney was impressive, holding Autocraft, one of the league’s most dangerous lineups, to 15 runs. He had defensive help from John DeFalco who saved two runs by snaring a smash down the line. Richie D’Amico was tough at second and has the bruises to prove it after diving for several hard hit balls. Offensively, the runs came early and often starting with 7 in the 1st and 11 in the 2nd. Just about everyone joined the hit parade, including Tom Dittmeier who blasted a rocket down the right field line. Bino Reverberi, Jerry Mazza, John Hernandez, Vinny Foppiano, John DeFalco, Tom Dittmeier and Ira Berger all had three hits on the night. Marc Fischer, Pete Mendelson and rookie Gene Hennigan had two.

8:20pm - LaCorte Family Auto versus Singletons - 90ft field

Friday's middle game between HR Singleton's Restaurant and Lacorte Family Auto Repair started out with Singleton's leading 3-2 after 3 innings. After scoring 33 runs the previous week, Lacorte showed their batting prowess by putting 6 across the plate in the 4th inning to take an 8-4 advantage, but the Red Men responded with 5 runs to take a brief one run lead. Lacorte then went on to score 6 out of the next 8 runs to take a 3 run lead 14-11. Heading into the last inning of play, Big Red once again came up large to score 4 runs and win a very exciting game against a very good opponent. Hitting stars on the night were led by veteran Tom ( Satch) Camarda going 3-3 and with 2 hits apiece were...Bob Davis, Benny Alberto, Frank Gordon, Alan Rapfogel, Tommy Sorrentino, Paul Canalattos, Gary Saccaro, and Nick Gadinis.

8:20pm - McCourt & Trudden versus Lockie & Nowachek - 90ft field

Lockie & Nowachek Family Chiropractors did not win this week, but the team didn’t lose either. Lockie & Nowachek went the distance with McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home ending in a 13-13 tie. The McCourt & Trudden team led most of the game, but pitchers Ben Greco and Pete Cestare prevented M&T from running up the score. For two weeks in a row, Mike Quigley came through with a big hit. “Quiggs” tied the score with a single that was mishandled by the right fielder resulting in Mike rounding the bases. M&T was able to go ahead with a run in the next inning, but Tommy Joseph tied it up once again with a run scoring single, his fourth hit of the night. Both teams left everything on the field.
