7:00pm - Zwanger Pesiri versus Hampton Air - 60ft fieldZwanger-Pesiri ran into a very tough Hampton Air team, losing 20-8. ZP jumped to a quick 3-0 lead, but Hampton fired back with six of their own and never looked back. George Eicher led the way with 3 hits for ZP while Tom “T” Ball, Marc Fischer, Bino Reverberi, Karl Dessel, Vinny Ciullo, Pete Mendelson and Jerry Mazza all had two hits each. 7:00pm - Barco versus Granny O'Shea's - 90ft fieldOn a misty wet night, Granny O’Shea’s played host to Barco on the 90 ft field. After a 15-15 battle last week, O’Shea’s was looking to shed the “tie game” blues. In the first inning up stepped Don “Meal Ticket” Carlin. He blasted his way back after a week off with a two-run triple to left center as O’Shea’s jumped out to a 2-0 lead that they would never relinquish. Don went on to complete a 4/5 night with 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Granny O’Shea’s ended the evening with a 21-3 win. Other notables included Jay “Mr. Consistent” Donovan continuing his hot streak with 3 hits and 3 RBIs and Walter Hasemann going 3/3 with 2 RBIs. Mitch Maghakian contributed 4 hits and 4 RBIs while Bob Thompson and Bruce Kubart closed out the night with multiple hits and two RBIs each 8:20pm – Changing Times versus Singletons - 60ft fieldThe middle contest between Singleton's and Changing Times figured to be an ordinary game, except for the fact that Singleton's three regular starting pitchers were not in attendance. "I had to reach into my black bag of tricks for this one", said manager Richie Brancaccio, and who came out was “old reliable” Tom (Satch) Camarda. After shaking off some early rust, Satch settled down and only allowed 2 runs in the final 6 innings and a total of 6 runs in the game. In the meantime, Singleton's bats were hot ....scoring 21 runs lifting Big Red to a 21-6 victory. Leading the way once again was Alan Rapfogel with 4 hits... and with 3 hits were Dennis Passaratti (5 R.B.I.s), Rich Smindak and Gary Saccaro (3 R.B.I.s) also with 3 hits Larry Greishaber, Jimmy McQuade, Tommy Sorrentino, and John Gannon each having 2 R.B.I.s. 9:40pm - J Two Lounge versus Synergy - 90ft fieldSynergy finally moved into the win column with an impressive 20-7 win over J-Two Lounge. Synergy had a balanced attack with several players contributing multi-hit games including: Aldo Balducci, Joe Lutz, Brian Landy, Beny Macchia, John Garrity, Tom Vanasco, Dennis Oehl and Rich Darjie. Landy started the scoring with a home run in his first at bat as Darjie continued his stellar pitching, holding J-Two in check.
